Rochelle Parks-Yancy, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University. She earned her PhD in Organization Management from Rutgers University, her MBA from Howard University and her B.S. in Finance from Central State University. Her teaching expertise is in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Parks-Yancy’s research examines social capital and its relationship to the careers of diverse social groups. Her work appears in the International Review of Modern Sociology, Annual Review of Sociology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Sociological Spectrum, Sociological Imagination, Management Communication Quarterly, Michigan Sociological Review, Journal of Family and Economic Issues, Journal of Mental Health, Religion and Culture, Critical Sociology and in Research in the Sociology of Work: Diversity in the Workforce.
Dr. Parks-Yancy has won a Best Paper Award from the Careers Division of the Academy of Management and she has been awarded research grants from the National Science Foundation/American Sociological Association and Texas Southern University.
Recently, she was awarded the status of Fulbright Scholar to Armenia for 2010. Dr. Parks-Yancy has also provided Career Management and Teambuilding training expertise to managers in the insurance and banking industries, as well as to managers at GE.
